The 15 Most Sought-After Companies for Tech Students Globally

For many college students around the world, working at tech giants like Google, Samsung, or Oracle is a dream worth pursuing.

Universum, an expert in employer branding, recently shared its findings from the World’s Most Attractive Employers rankings with Business Insider. The rankings were compiled from feedback given by more than 100,000 students across nine countries, including thousands of students in IT fields. Each student was asked to name up to five companies where they would ideally like to work. The surveys were conducted at different times between September 2023 and May 2024.

"We engaged these future talents to gain insights into what company traits they find most appealing in a potential employer, as well as which specific employers they consider to be ideal," Universum stated.

For tech students, Google, Microsoft, and Apple were clearly the favorites, consistently ranking high on the list. In fact, the top seven companies remained unchanged from last year’s rankings. Notably, Sony secured the No. 7 spot, while Amazon claimed the No. 4 position. Google, the top company for IT students, also ranked No. 1 among engineering students.
